Graduate School
Graduate school affords both recent graduates and experienced professionals the opportunity to refine their skills, deeply explore a specific academic discipline, acquire a professional degree, conduct important research, network with peers, instructors, and professionals, and sometimes even change careers. Before applying to graduate school, you should have completed or be on the verge of completing an undergraduate (Bachelor’s) degree. You should also have a very specific field or career goal in mind. Common graduate programs include:

MD – This degree is awarded upon the completion of medical school

MBA – An advanced business degree that can be awarded in a variety of specialties

JD – This degree is awarded upon the completion of law school

Master’s Degree – These programs vary in length, but typically take 1-3 years to complete. The coursework is more advanced than that of the undergraduate, and students usually have an opportunity to explore some work in research. The Master’s degree can afford a student with greater career opportunities, and in fact is required for certain positions.

PhD – Typically 4-6 years in a specially chosen field, these programs usually involve research and the publication of a dissertation, or thesis.

The Ivy Key provides mentoring, admissions counseling, and standardized test preparation for prospective graduate students. We offer individual and group preparatory classes for the GRE, GMAT, and LSAT.
